Happy Birthday

Danika's 1st 4th of July!!!!! We had a barbecue and swimming with friends and family at the house. It rained all morning and finally gave us clear skies towards the afternoon. We lit fireworks!!! Danika loved watching the bright lights but would jump at the noise everytime a firework was lit! But she never cried.....she was much to fascinated by the bright lights! Mamma plugged her ears for her! :)

Today, a representative from AZ Early Intervention Program came to the house to do another assessment on Danika. It has been 3 months since they have checked up on her. They asked me a bunch of questions like "Will she follow your voice and look for you?" " Does she smile when you talk to her?" "Does she kick her arms and legs equally when she is on her tummy or back?". They have a graph that they plot the answers on. The graph has 3 colors. Black (she is doing bad developmentally), Gray (she is doing good in some areas but could use improvement in other areas) and White (She is exactly where she should be for her corrected age). Danika scored in the "white" with all of the questions. :) It looks like she is right where she is suppose to be for her "corrected" age. So, even though she is 6 months old, her corrected age is 3 months old. She is doing exactly what a 3 month old should be doing right now. :) The AZ Early Intervention Program will follow her until she is 3 years old to make sure she is hitting all of her milestones and checking to see if she has any developmental issues. So far, she is on track! :)

Danika's new favorite thing to do other than sleep most of the day is to chew on everything! She chews on blankets, her clothes, birp clothes.....anything within arms lenghth! She has these 2 stuffed bunnies attached to the straps of her carseat that she is constantly putting in her mouth! Im washing those things all the time!
